“…For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:9-11)

Beautiful verse!
Is it not true that when something we deem “bad” happens to us our knee jerk reaction is to think we are being punished by wrath. This was the counsil of the friends in the book of Job that God later admonished. It is not true for the children of God. For being children how can wrath come from the hand of our loving father who gives us all?
In dealing with tragedy, as a Christian this is the hardest obstacle to overcome. Yet in the love for us that is shown through the tradegy of the cross we must follow by example. The examples of love here are overwhelming.
God will bless

i ran across a link to your blog somewhere, i can’t remember where. and for over an hour i read through all the posts, oldest to newest. as i was reading, i laughed out loud sometimes, at things like ian rolling his eyes. other times i cried, reading about larissa’s devotion, or his parents or siblings.
my heart has broken for all of you. i know you have seen and experienced god in ways i may never. your faith and patience and complete unselfishness are just AMAZING. i pray through tears and laughter that god will just POUR blessings on you. i know that it isn’t about deserving anything, but, well, you all more than anyone deserve blessings.
your blog and your lives are this living, breathing, growing example of Jesus Christ. your sacrifices and selflessness are miraculous; it is truly christ in you all.
i am humbled. i am inspired. i am desiring to be more like all of you. and i am praying for ian. more miracles. more steps. strength, comfort, contentedness. anything i can think of.
thank you for sharing this amazing story. i hope that the next thing i have to face, i face with at least some portion of the christ-likeness that you all have.
