Ian seems to really be getting the hang of sitting up and is getting much stronger. Steve and Bill built something so that Ian has a bar in front of him that he can hold onto and pull himself up with. The last two times that he has sat up, I’ve heard reports that he did incredibly well. He really seems to be figuring it all out.
We haven’t seem to have gained much in the way of communication. We know that he can do it, but I think that he needs to be in the right mood.
This weekend is the one-year “anniversary” (even though I don’t like to call it that) of the accident. So I apologize now if we don’t post for a few days. Thank you for your continual prayers…..
I will sing of Your mercy
that leads me through valleys of sorrow
to rivers of joy

Larisa,
I just wanted to say what a inspiration you are. I recently became a reader of your blog while looking for more inspiration or information for my own. Your story is so unique and gives me hope for a possible relationship with someone in my future. You see, I myself am single and in a wheelchair.
Keep strong.
You are in my thoughts as well as my prayers
(hopefully) A New Friend,

This is a song I like to listen to because of the whole concept of hope. I do know it is not about what we experience, but Who we know!! He does inspire our endurance. Standing with you and praying for you especially this weekend. Lord, continue your healing work in Ian!!
Love you.
God Of Hope
Words by Kendall Combes and Charlie Hall
Music by Kendall Combes
Set this hope in me, set this hope in me
That I may be pure and holy
That I may be like you only
That I may be completely free
Though you slay me I will hope
Hope inspires my endurance
Your hope is my anchor
God of Hope fill me

Mary, Steve, Larissa, guys, and Lydia, I wish I could be with you physically but it is very comforting to know that our God unites us at this time. I remember well, the morning of the 31st when Christy called and told me what had happened the day before. Truly we greive, have hope, rejoice and celebrate together in ways we never could have imagined. One year ago we cried together at the potential funeral now we celebrate she can read and choose the name of his little sister! Our God can do more than we can imagine or ask! We know ultimately no matter how disguise the truth be might be that the battle is not ours and we shall stand together and see the deliverance of our God! He will never leave or forsake ian and he will go before him and be his rear guard! He will make the rough places smooth. His joy will be Ian’s Strength. He is with Ian to the ends of the earth, always. Wow what a great inheritance we share. Everything else is just distractions and opportunities to know Jesus more deeply. Love, Eileen

Hi, I found this website after reading “Come Back, Barbara,” and wanted to look up the authors on the internet. I am deeply moved by what happened to Ian and want you to know that I am praying intensely for him, for full restoration and healing here and now. I’ve passed the prayer request on… please know that people are praying from all over the US and the world. Praying for Ian, Larissa and his family. Thank you for sharing your hearts and all the pictures make it possible to truly connect as we come before the Father. May Christ carry this burden for you. Praising God that Ian is still with you!!! Praising God for every improvement, every new day. In Christ, Patty from Arizona

“The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me.”

I love y’all so much…
And I’m praying for you on this day,
