‘To live is Christ, to die is gain’.Phil 1:21
Which of these will be our portion, God himself will decide.”
-John Piper
As of today, Ian will be kicking his left foot to say “no.” This will help the therapists and us to distinquish more easily between yes and no. Yes will still be a long blink. I right away thought that him using his foot sounded really dumb because it seems like such a step backward from normal communication. But it is a means to an end, and ultimately we just want Ian to be able to communicate his needs clearly.
Please pray for him

Good to hear this Larissa, try any way you can to communicate. With TBI imagination and trying out of the ordinary things for recovery will sometimes bring success. The nature of TBI is that everyone is affected in their own way and therefore must be approached in the same way, very individualized. Keep trying!!!!
God will bless

I just wanted to say hello. Your blog has been an encouragement to me. I have a 16 year old son with dev. disabilities. He has been going through a very hard time dealing with anxiety and depression since May. Some days it feels like he is lost to us and we’ll never get him back. Other days I have more faith. I just wanted to let you know that I can relate to some of what you are all going through. I’m praying for Ian.

Larissa –
I’m giving thanks today that Ian can communicate! I pray for you and the Murphy family and Ian that you will have renewed strength as you continue to wait for the Lord. May you all mount up with wings like eagles! (Isaiah 40:31)
