Wonderful news. I know you would like to have him back, completely, immediately, but it is amazing to see you praising God for this step. You are having to learn what really having faith means. What a hard lesson, yet God is working such wonderful things in you, Ian and all those around him. We continue to pray for you, for Ian, for the Murphys. Gina Plain

I was awakened by the Lord this morning to spend time with Him. I eventually found myself in the quiet, dark peaceful setting sensing God’s presence and feeling as if I was summoned before the Lord. Amidst my prayer time I began to imagine Ian’s surroundings and circumstances and asking God to intervene, to bless him and you Larissa, Steve and Linda. You don’t know me but I feel that I know you and I want to say that your vulnerability, honesty and articulate assessment of progress, spiritually for all of you and physically for Ian truly remind we how we are all part of the family of God if we are True Believers.
One of my favorite verses in Phil. is…
Not that I’ve already attained or am already perfected, I press on that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
I will pray this night that Ian may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of him.
May your Spirit soar in the days to come as you continue to trust in the Sovereignty of our Saviour.

Laris
Thought of this when I read this post:
Silver and gold, have I none, but such as I have, give I thee, in the name of Jesus Christ, rise up and walk. I’m walking and leaping and praising God! AND all the people saw him and were filled with wonder and amazement! Acts 3:6-10.
See you soon!

Larissa, I teach Sunday School in Southern California and our little 4-12 year olds have been praying for Ian for a long time now. It was so sweet to see how excited they were on Sunday when they found out Ian was learning how to walk again. They were so happy that God was answering their prayers. And then to hear one of our 5 year olds thank God for helping Ian to walk and then pray that he would talk. I thought I would share that blessing with you.

Larissa,
I don’t know you or Ian, but I feel led to tell you that I’ve been affected by your godly response to this situation.
Honestly, I cannot comprehend how much this situation must hurt. But then again, I cannot comprehend the amount of grace God’s lavished upon you.
Your story really just put some things in perspective for me. I have several friends around Ian’s age, with similar humor too(I watched Ian’s videos) and it really struck me how easily our plans can (and generally do) just fly out the window.
Isn’t it wonderful that God’s plan has never and will never change?
Anyway, Ian just strikes me as a guy I’d know and be friends with. It hit really close to home.
Larissa, you are a faithful woman. You are exemplary in your faithfulness.
God is using you, dear sister!
I’ll be praying for you, for Ian, and for his whole family.
