trusting god
“I realized anew that, just as we must learn to obey God one choice at a time, we must also learn to trust God one circumstance at a time. Trusting God is not a matter of my feelings but of my will. I never feel like trusting God when adversity strikes, but I can choose to do so even when I don’t feel like it. That act of the will, though, must be based on belief, and belief must be based on truth.”
taken from “Trusting God” by Jerry Bridges
Reading this with Ian today, I was right there understanding the struggle of not feeling like trusting God. Praying for grace for myself and for Ian to choose to trust God. It’s so much easier not to.
Thank you for praying

Even though we have never met, Larissa, I want you to know that I have laughed and cried and praised God with you all as you have lived this trial. I thank God for his grace which he has manifested in you, and praise him for the encouragement that your steadfast trust in his goodness has been for me. I have been truly astounded on so many occasions, that despite the pain, you thank God for his severe mercy in allowing you to know him more than you would have, had the accident not happened. I pray that he will continue to pour his grace on you and enable you to run with perseverance your particular race, to trust him although your will says ‘no!’. I look forward to rejoicing around the throne with you all! Your sister in Christ, Jo Charles (Chile)

WOW Larissa, Steve, Mary, Ben, Caleb, Devon and Lydia, the tears of joy are flooding! “And I stand, I stand, in awe of you, Holy God, to whom all praise is due, I stand in awe of You! The praise to our King is far reaching! This song arose in my heart just now. “Someday a bright new wave is gonna break up on the shore, and there will be no sickness no more crying, no more war. And peace will be the way of life, with Christ the only rule, and there will be a bright new morning over there, there will be a bright new world for us to share.” A song Mary, Steve and I sang in our high school days. And today we have tasted the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Our family is celebrating with yours today and always. Love Eileen
