Continued Progress
Ian continues to improve. It seems like every few days he’s doing some new facial expression or something. His eating is going really well and he’s continuing to feed himself finger foods. He can basically eat everything we eat now. Last night he had Reesee cups and iced coffee, just before hot wings and blue moon. and lisa, ian even ate the whoopie pies:)
ian also is consistently using his sign language, mainly for yes and no. it is so helpful for him to be able to make decisions. pray that he learns how to respond more and more quickly when we ask him questions.
we’re getting closer to the two-year mark that i’m dreading. i want to keep praying for complete healing
thank you, always

Maybe I missed it or forgot. Why are you dreading the two-year mark?
Through all that confusing whatever-it-is, if what you tell him registers and he is able to respond, he probably harbours a highly intelligent mind. May God bless you with patience and strength, just as you and Ian and the family are a blessing to us. With prayer,

Though it is often a struggle to understand, God’s timing is perfect. Ian’s progress and your perseverance encourages us all. Thank you.
Continuing to pray and hope…

Larissa,
For my eyes are toward Thee, O God, the Lord;
In Thee I take refuge; do not leave me defenseless. Ps.141;8
He is good,

Great to hear the progress Larissa and expect more. Keep stimulating Ian in areas that he enjoyed previously to his brain injury. With the grace of God be as creative as possible. It seems in some that the sung word is easier to remember and articulate than the spoken word.
In prayer
God will bless

I didn’t see an email address to send this to. I live in Lancaster and attend Crossway Church of Lancaster. I knew Ian did his summer internship with Haverstick Films in summer of ’06. there was an article in today’s paper about the film’s premiere…i don’t know if Ian did work on the film but I’m sure he was connected somehow through Haverstick.

I don’t mention this to bring up memories or anything, but it just made me think of Ian again and to pray for him. I often drive by Haverstick Films in the city and when I do it makes me think of Ian and a reminder to pray for him.

Every update encourages us and reminds us to pray all the more. That he’s coming to his 2 year mark stuns me. How can it be that long ago when those events are, still, so crystal clear in my mind. I can’t believe it. I’m sure that you can, though, and I’ll be praying extra hard as this day approaches.

Larissa
Do not dread the two year mark-God has worked wonders with Ian, you and the whole Murphy family.
Be blessed and receive Ian’s healing in God’s time-the ministry of faith and prayer that has come out of Ian’s accident is quite powerful in itself-be proud and strong that God is watching over all of you. If you both live to be 80 or 90 as is normal today 2 to 4 years of your life will be but a drop in the bucket! Hang in there and rejoice-Ian is returning to all of you!

Oh Larissa do not fear or dread the 2 year point since Ian’s injury. Rather thank the Lord that Ian is still with you to love and cherish and be a servant to. And think about how far he has come in recovery and how much more is in store for all of you. Every day is one in which to make a memory , a sweet memory with the man you love.
be encouraged…the best is yet to come!!
