eight twenty eight
today is eight twenty eight.
today is our dad’s birthday. and today is our anniversary. and today means His promise to work all things together for good because He loves us. today is for reflecting on three years with a God who has held our marriage, has kept us when we would have left on our own and has sprinkled joy in the most unexpected places.
today is for remembering that when God gave life to Steve on this day 53 years ago,
He knew exactly what He was doing.
we are now one because of life.
and above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. and let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. and be thankful.
Col 3:14-15
in love

Happy Anniversary! I was thinking of you when I woke up , without knowing you but have been following your blog quite a while. And today it's 50 years after the "I have a dream" speech. You live YOUR dream , at least, it seems as if you do, go on like this. Have a wonderful day – every day . Best wishes from sunny Germany , Tina

Dear Ian and Larissa,
Let me, too, wish you a very happy anniversary. I know that life isnt always sunny and easy, but I cant help smile as I see your pictures of a loving family standing together. In thend, that is what counts. I want to share a thought with you: when I saw the pictures of 8-28, the first thing that came to my mind was: soon therell be another 8-28 when nobody will believe that Ian was the same guy than on 8-28-13. I guess it was my own thought, and not some God-sent message, but I wanted to share it with you regardless.
All the best,
Hannah

I LOVE this post! It's my favorite yet and I've been reading and gleaning from your story for months. Happy Anniversary! May the Lord continue to weave beautiful things from your lives, family, marriage and faithfulness, as only He can!

What a wonderful legacy, all of you there together. A mini-reflection of your Heavenly Father's legacy through His Son. I hope (one day late; sorry!) that your anniversary was a happy one. Were globos (little hot air balloons) included again this year?
