Awesome

By admin,

It is awesome. It’s crazy. Getting married is awesome. Larissa Whiteley makes marriage awesome. She’s perfect for a man. She knows what I need and is willing to give it to me. She helps me with my brain injury.

It is hard to speak sometimes. When I can’t speak, it’s frustrating. Speaking to each other makes a marriage. Please pray for my speech.

Changes

By admin,

This weekend, my family helped me to move into the future Murphy residence. It is so fun to be able to set up a home that will eventually be for Ian and I. It encourages me when I look back on how far we have come- the fact that we can live on our own is a miracle. I need to keep looking back to give me faith to look ahead.

Thank you for always praying. 4 months and counting…..
Larissa

As a side note, there is a camp in eastern Pennsylvania for children with brain injury who are in need of male counselors from June 13-18. My cousins have worked as this camp for years and asked if I knew anyone who would be interested.

For more info go to www.campcranium.org or email andrew.meschter@gmail.com
thanks:)

Sorry that I haven’t been posting much over the past few days. On Monday I began a new full-time marketing position at a local bank, so our schedule is a little bit different.

Friday is Ian’s birthday. I asked him how he felt about turning 25 and he said “awesome, it makes me happy.” I asked him what turning 25 made him think about God and he said, “that He is merciful.”

Our First Place

By admin,

We had a celebratory dinner in Pittsburgh last night to celebrate signing a lease on our first place as a married couple! Our friend Jessica who is a local relator helped us find a perfect ranch house to rent. I’ll be moving out a month from now and Ian will join me in August.

“You that are lowest on the scale of visible joy, you that are broken like a shipwreck, you that are a mass of pain, you that are in poverty, will you give your Lord a good word? Will you say, ‘Though He slay me, yet I will trust him.’

At our worst, we are better off than the world at its best. Godly poverty is better than unhallowed riches. Our sickness is better than our sinner’s health. Our depression is better than the earth’s honors. We consider it better to suffer pain equal to the torture of death than bathe in sin’s pleasures. We will take God at all the discount you can put on Him. You can have the world with all the compound interest that you are able to get from such a sham…….
Sorrowful yet always rejoicing. Do you know this paradox? Some of us have known it for many years.”

Headed to Pittsburgh today to see an orthopedic surgeon about Ian’s knee. Hoping for some options, but the reality is there probably are none.
It’s amazing how much we spend on trying to fix our bodies- bodies that aren’t meant to last forever.
Thanks for praying

Ian finally comes home tomorrow. When he gets back, it will have been four weeks since he went in. Can’t wait to have him back. He said it’s been good but is looking forward to being with his family.

I asked Ian what he wanted to be able to do before we get married. He said “I wanna walk and dance.”

And they shall be My people, and I will be their God; and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me always, for their own good, and for the good of their children after them. And I will make an everlasting covenant with them that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; and I will put the fear of Me in their hearts so that they will not turn away from Me. And I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will faithfully plant them in this land with all My heart and with all My soul.
